Optimizing Google Chrome for PressONE CX

Who is this Guide For?

  • All Users that log in to the PressONE CX Agent Toolbar.

  • Google Chrome
  • Access to Chrome Settings
  • Administrative rights may be required depending on security settings. If unable to make these changes, please contact your IT Support.

Overview

This guide provides instructions for optimizing Google Chrome to ensure the best experience with PressONE CX. These settings help prevent session timeouts, maximize performance, and ensure stable real-time communication.


Keep CXHub Active in Chrome

To prevent Chrome from suspending the CXHub and CXAdmin Portal, add it to the Always keep these sites active list.

  1. In Google Chrome, copy and paste chrome://settings/performance in the address bar and press Enter.
  2. Under General, find Always keep these sites active and click Add.
  3. Select Add sites manually, enter cxagent.pressone.net and cxhub.pressone.net, and then click Add.

Enable Hardware Acceleration

Hardware acceleration improves performance by offloading processing to the GPU.

  1. In Google Chrome, copy and paste chrome://settings/system in the address bar and press Enter.
  2. Find Use graphics acceleration when available and toggle the switch ON.
  3. Click Relaunch to apply changes.

Enable Microphone, Speaker, and Notifications for the CXHub Agent Toolbar

To ensure full functionality of the Agent Toolbar, allow access to the microphone, speakers, and notifications.

  1. Open Google Chrome and go to https://cxagent.pressone.net to bring up the PressONE CX Agent Toolbar.
  2. Click the icon to the left of the website address to view site information.
  3. Select Site settings and modify the following permissions:
    • Microphone: Set to Allow
    • Notifications: Set to Allow
    • Sound: Set to Allow
    • Popup and Redirects: Set to Allow
  4. Refresh the page for changes to take effect.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

What if my notifications or sound settings are not working properly?

  • Clear your browser cache for the site and relaunch the agent toolbar.
  • Relaunch the agent toolbar and ensure the site settings above are all set correctly.

Can I use a different browser?

PressONE CX is supported only in Google Chrome. Other browsers may experience compatibility issues. We are unable to provide troubleshooting on other browsers and would require any issues to be replicated in Google Chrome.
