Reset a Yealink desk phone to factory defaults when it's misbehaving or being reassigned

Applies to: T4x series · T5x series

Before you reset: a factory reset erases all settings and un-registers the phone. It will only come back online if it re-downloads its PressONE configuration. If you're not sure the phone is set to auto-provision, contact helpdesk@pressone.net before resetting so we can get it re-registered.

Option A — Hold the OK key (fastest, no password)

  1. With the phone powered on and idle, press and hold the OK key in the center of the navigation pad for about 10 seconds.
  2. When "Reset to factory setting?" appears, press OK (or the OK soft key).
  3. Let the phone reboot. Do not unplug it — it will re-provision automatically.
Full-touch T57W: it has no physical OK key — use Option B (menu) instead.

Option B — From the phone menu

  1. Press Menu → Settings → Advanced Settings.
  2. Enter the admin password. This is a custom password set by PressONE — ask PressONE support for the admin password (helpdesk@pressone.net) if you don't have it.
  3. Select Reset to Factory Settings and confirm.

Option C — From the phone's web page

  1. Find the phone's IP: Menu → Status.
  2. Type that IP into a web browser on the same network and sign in as admin.
  3. Go to Settings → Upgrade → Reset to Factory Setting and confirm.
After the reset: the phone reboots and pulls its PressONE config on startup. If it comes back with no line or a "Not Registered" message, open a ticket and we'll re-provision it.
