Adding Additional Line keys to a Poly(com) Phone

Introduction

There are times when you need additional buttons or "appearances" of your own line to better manage calls or handle more calls.  Adding additional linekeys is just a matter logging into the phones GUI or changing the parameter in the phone's physical Administrative settings 

Procedure

Via Settings on Physical Device

Via Web GUI 

Access the phone’s Web Interface:

  1. Find the IP address of the phone (usually from the phone’s settings under Menu > Status > Network).
  2. Enter the IP address into a browser (e.g., http://192.168.1.100).
  3. Log in. Default credentials are often:
    1. Password: 773771 (unless changed)
  4. Navigate to the line key settings:
    1. Go to: Settings > Lines
    2. Look for a section labeled like “Number of Line Keys” or “Line Key Configuration”
    3. Set the number of line keys -- For the desired line (e.g., Line 1), set the number of appearances or shared line keys to whatever number you require.
  5. Save and reboot the phone if required.
