Yealink W80DM + W80B Setup Guide
Yealink W80DM + W80B Setup Guide
Quick install steps for a small deployment (1 DECT Manager, 1 base, multiple handsets).
Last updated: January 23, 2026
What you’re installing
- W80DM - DECT Manager (controls bases and handsets)
- W80B - DECT Base (radio coverage)
- Handsets - W56H, W59R, W73H, etc.
Key idea: Configure SIP accounts on the W80DM. The W80B is managed by the DM and provides RF coverage.
Network + prep
- Connect the W80DM and W80B to the same LAN (PoE or power adapter).
- Make sure DHCP is working so both devices get IP addresses.
- Find the IPs (DHCP leases or device UI).
- Update firmware on both devices before pairing (keep them on the same major firmware version).

PressONE will provide the correct firmware if needed. If customer manages their own hardware, please visit support.yealink.com for firmware support
- Open a browser to the W80DM IP address and log in.
- Go to Settings → DECT Manager → Base Station.
- Confirm DECT Manager mode is enabled (wording can vary by firmware).
- Save/apply changes and reboot if prompted.
Step 2: Add the W80B to the W80DM
On the W80B
- Log into the W80B web UI.
- Go to Settings → DECT → Base Settings (menu names vary).
- Set the base to be managed by DM (DM mode).
- Enter the W80DM IP address.
- Apply and reboot.
On the W80DM
- Go to DECT Manager → Base Station.
- Use Scan / Add Base.
- Confirm the W80B shows as Online.
If the base doesn’t show Online:
- Confirm both devices are on the same subnet/VLAN and can reach each other.
- Confirm firmware compatibility (same major version).
- Reboot W80B first, then W80DM.
- If needed: factory reset the W80B and re-add it.
Step 3: Create SIP accounts (on the W80DM)

STOP: A PressONE team member should have already created these sip accounts and added them to the Yealink RPS platform. When your device boots for the first time, you the accounts should be added to your W80DM
All SIP registration is set on the W80DM.
- Go to Account → Register (or Accounts / VoIP, depending on firmware).
Add one SIP account per handset/extension:
- SIP user/extension
- Auth user
- Password
- Registrar/Proxy (your PBX or hosted platform)
- Save.
Step 4: Register and assign handsets
- On the W80DM: go to DECT Manager → Handset (or Handsets).
- Click Register Handset (start the registration window).
- On the handset: enter registration mode (menu varies by model; often Settings → Registration or a long-press).
When the handset appears on the W80DM, assign:
- the SIP account/extension
- the base (W80B)
- Save and confirm the handset shows Registered/Online.
Step 5: Test
- Place outbound calls from each handset.
- Test inbound calls to each extension.
- Walk around to confirm coverage and no audio dropouts.
- Do a final reboot of DM and base after everything is stable.
Common gotchas
- Firmware mismatch between W80DM and W80B.
- Trying to configure SIP accounts on the W80B instead of the W80DM.
- DM and base on different VLANs without routing/firewall rules.
- Handset registered but not assigned to a SIP account.
